After 3 years of training at home (P90X – P90X3, Insanity, and Body Beast), a friend suggested giving CrossFit a try. I was apprehensive at first as I really didn’t know much about it and my initial research led to even more confusion. The exercises looked nothing like anything I had done before and they seemed technically difficult. CrossFit M3 offered a complimentary introductory class and I decided I had nothing to lose, little did I know I had everything to gain. Registering for the class was easy with the user-friendly Wodify app used by CM3. I arrived and was welcomed by Marg and Matt, 2 of the co-owners of the gym. They made me feel at home immediately. The gym is sleek, modern, bright, and welcoming. The facilities and equipment are top notch. There was a lot of information to take in during the first class but Matt and Marg were patient and made sure everything was clear before proceeding on to the next concept/exercise. Safety and proper form were always of paramount importance. My first workout had pushed me harder than I could’ve ever pushed myself at home and that’s when I knew I was their next member.
After completing my 5 foundations classes that introduced me to all the basic exercises, I was ready to join the classes and complete the WOD (Workout of the Day). Tom and Herman (co-owners) and Joe, Kris, and Laura Rae (instructors) all do a fantastic job of ensuring you are working to your potential and encouraging you with each lift, squat, and pull. You’ll often find them working out along side of you, giving you that extra bit of motivation to reach and even surpass your goals. CrossFit M3 is more than a gym, it’s become a place where friends meet to encourage, compete, share a laugh, and go home with a sense of accomplishment. From social nights to celebrating birthdays, there’s never a dull moment.
